Why partner with the ESSEC Beauty Chair?

Created in 2010 and allocated €35 billion, the Investments for the Future program (PIA) aims to stimulate employment, boost productivity and increase the competitiveness of French businesses by encouraging investment and innovation in priority sectors to drive growth.

In 2017 ESSEC business school and the CY Cergy-Paris University received by the French government the PIA label “Universities of excellence” for their project “CY initiative”. CY Initiative is an academic consortium with a common and ambitious project: to support innovative educational programs that aim to boost research potential and international attractiveness.

CY Initiative chose in 2019 the Leading a Beauty Brand Chair's project because of its innovative vision of beauty sector.

The Chair constitutes a new asset for CY Initiative and contributes in developing a pole of expertise. Indeed, the institutions already have ties with Cosmetic Valley - the first cosmetics and perfumery resource center in the world - but with the Chair’s German and US based international partners, the project contributes to Paris Seine's regional roots, while increasing its recognition on a national and international level.

CY Initiative objectives:

• Fostering interdisciplinary research,

• Promoting strong international partnerships of excellence in the research field.
